Time of emotions - Szczecin Brass Quintet

The program includes works from the Renaissance to the present day. The evening will begin with music by the Renaissance composer Tielman Susato (c. 1515 – c. 1570), author of instrumental dance cycles, composed of typical of the era dances, such as galiarda, pawana, allemande.

A deep experience will be "full of pathos and cathartic passion" Adagio op. 11 of Samuel Barber (1910-1981), one of the most recognizable songs of American concert music. In 2004, listeners on THE BBC Today programme regarded Adagio as "the saddest piece of music ever" (Barber's composition was overtaken by Henry Purcell's "The Lament of Dydon" and Adagietto's Fifth Symphony by Gustav Mahler). Adagio will be heard in an unusual, poignant arrangement for a wind quintet.

To dry a tear that will spin in the eye of the listeners, the music of the sunny summer will sound – a quintet of Victor Ewald (1860-1935) – a virtuoso song, full of surprising musical phrases. It certainly won't leave the listeners indifferent to the artistry of the performers. A lot of pleasure will be made by the composition of the American arranger, session music, songwriter, Michael Kamen (1948-2003), Quintet. The evening will conclude with a song by Canadian creator and arranger Collier Jones (d. 1997), Four Movements for Five Brass.

Szczecin Brass Quintet, consists of members of the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Musicians are happy to play songs from the repertoire of jazz, entertainment and film music.
