The Atom String Quartet is a leading Polish jazz band and one of the most interesting string quartets in the world. Within the SoundLab series, a great musical experiment will take place on the Philharmonic stage on February 4th. The band will perform on stage with multi-instumentalist Andrzej Smolik, for the very first time.
He is regarded as
one of Poland's leading music producers, while they are perceived as “the most likeable strummers
with an explosive power equal to the band's name”, according to Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski. He is the phantom behind the musical careers and record productions of Kasia Nosowska, Artur Rojek, Robert Gawliński and Tomasz Stańko. They performed live with Bobby McFerrin, Leszek Możdżer, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Józef Skrzek and the AUKSO orchestra.
Their paths will intersect at the Szczecin Philharmonic – this
meeting onstage, Andrzej Smolik and the Atom String Quartet, will constitute
a precisely crafted spectacle of sound, where electronica will support a classical string quartet and vice versa.
A live broadcast of this concert will be available at the
Szczecin Philharmonic's channel on youtube on devices with Internet access.
