Wojciech Rodek – born in 1977. Artistic director of the Lublin Philharmonic and Lower Silesian Philharmonic, music director of the Gliwice Music Theatre, and guest conductor of the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz. Daily, he teaches in the conducting class of the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
In 2011, he received the prestigious Jan Kiepura Theatre Music Award in the category of Best Conductor; four years later, he received the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture. Maestro Rodek is Marek Pijarowski's student and former assistant conductor of Antoni Wit at the Warsaw Philharmonic.
He has led such renowned ensembles as the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, the Polish Radio Orchestra and Sinfonia Iuventus. He is also a regular collaborator of the Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra, İzmir State Symphony Orchestra and European Johann Strauss Orchestra. He has also made many CD recordings, enthusiastically received by critics.
