Krzysztof Książek – In an interview for
Gazeta Wyborcza, Książek, hailed by some critics as "the painter of the piano", said: "The timbre is important to me, but it is essential in music. It is the most beautiful thing that can never be fully explored and always leaves the most possibilities for the artist. The world is attractive because it is colourful."
Krzysztof Książek is an excellent Polish pianist, awarded many times at international piano competitions: at the 17th Chopin Competition, but also at the 15th Concours International de Piano Ricard Vines (2nd place – 2009), The International Chopin Piano Competition (1st place, Grand Prix, Lviv, Ukraine 2010), the 6th Concorso Internazionale Pianistico Citta di Avezzano (1st prize – Avezzano, Italy 2011) and the International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments (3rd place, special award for the best performance of mazurkas – 2018). Appreciated for moving and insightful interpretations of Chopin's music, he is also a valued performer of Polish music. Krzysztof Książek was a guest at the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdrój, the Chopin and His Europe Festival, and even the Chopin à Paris Festival.
