Jakub Jakowicz – started learning the violin as a little boy under the watchful eye of a great master and father, Krzysztof Jakowicz. He has been giving concerts since the age of 11. He has already performed with all leading Polish orchestras, and his debut in "Violin Concerto in D major" by Piotr Tchaikovsky in 1994, including in Szczecin, echoed widely. Soon there were invitations to perform with Sinfonia Varsovia and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Then, in 1998, Jakub Jakowicz was invited by Krzysztof Penderecki to participate in the composer's festival in Krakow, during which he performed the demanding "Capriccio per Violino e Orchestra" under the baton of Jerzy Maksymiuk.
The artist gives concerts worldwide, where he is very successful. He played alongside the best orchestral ensembles: Orquestra Real de Sevilla, with Orquesta National de Espana, Monahinja Philharmonic, Orchester de la Suisse Romande, Dresdner Philharmoniker, Philharmonisches Orchester Dortmund, Orchestra di Santa Cecilia, Orquesta Nacional in Madrid, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale in Florence, Philharmonic Royal in Prague Stockholm Philharmonic, Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, Concerto Köln, Orquesta Sinfónica Valencia and the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra. In 2009 and 2011, at the invitation of Antoni Wit, the artist took part as a soloist in concert tours of the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Great Britain.
Jakub Jakowicz can also be proud of cooperation with such conductors as Michail Jurowski, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Walter Weller, Heinz Walenberg, Kirill Karabits, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Agnieszka Duczmal, Jan Krenz, Krzysztof Penderecki, Marek Pijarowski, Wojciech Rajski, Antoni Wit, Tadeusz Strugała, Tomasz Bugaj, Czesław Grabowski, Wojciech Michniewski, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, Jerzy Semkow and Jacek Kaspszyk.
He is also a recognised chamber musician. He performs both alongside his father and as a member of the highly successful Zehetmair Quartett, with whom he performs on the most important stages in the world.
Jakub Jakowicz has made many recordings. He is also a recognised educator. He works at the Frédéric Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
