DĄBROWSKI INSPIRED BY STAŃKO - INDIVIDUAL EXISTENCES

Excellent trumpeter Tomasz Dąbrowski, praised by the most important American jazz magazine "Downbeat" as one of the most diverse and interesting European musicians, and by the world-famous magazine "All About Jazz", indicated as one of the 15 most critical European musicians, will present his next original project, "Tomasz Dąbrowski & Istnienia Poszczególne" at the Philharmonic in Szczecin.

In his autobiography "Desperado", Tomasz Stańko said about himself: I don't feel lonely. I am Individual Existence. IE. This definition of Witkacy suits me very well. No union, no group, no patriotism, only IE. I am Polish, born here, speak the language in this way, and am deeply connected with this land, but in general, I feel the most to be Tomasz Stańko. Individual Existence. I am a unique set of atoms; there is no other like me in the world, in the universe. I'm going.

Tomasz Stańko was undoubtedly a great inspiration and signpost for generations of jazz musicians. The sound of his instrument, the approach to jazz and improvised music, and working with individualities became an impulse for Tomasz Dąbrowski to create a project dedicated to the memory of one of the most influential musicians of the Polish and European jazz scene.

As Tomasz Dąbrowski says: What I learned from the meetings and cooperation with Tomasz Stańko is that you should cultivate your individuality, create bands, search and add skillfully to your language on the instrument so that it becomes firm and independent – despite the circumstance. Separation, originality and creativity are the elements that I look for in my musicians because there is vast potential and strength in this, which I want to use through this project and give them direction thanks to the compositions I have created.
