West Side Sinfonietta is a unique ensemble co-created by musicians of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. Witold Lutosławski and the Philharmonic. M. Karłowicz in Szczecin. This initiative is unique on the scale of Poland and even Europe.
Musicians from both excellent institutions from western Poland exchange artistic experiences, giving excellent and passionate concerts. The orchestra is led not traditionally by a conductor, but from the pulpit by a violinist. This role is performed by outstanding musicians – concertmasters Paweł Maślanka and Marcin Danilewski. They form the core of the band, together with the excellent double bassist Jacek Sosna.
The repertoire of the West Side Sinfonietta is diverse, including both classical works and salon music. This extraordinary orchestra has in its repertoire works by the greatest classics, including: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Strauss, Joseph Haydn and Antonio Vivaldi.
