Spike Lee, Terence Blanchard, China Moses and Nona Hendryx

China Moses is a uniquely talented vocalist specializing in jazz and soul. The turning point of her career was the start of a cooperation with pianist and composer Raphael Lemonnier, with whom she worked on the project “Gardenias For Dinah”, a tribute to the legendary American vocalist Dinah Washington. Since then, Moses has been representing Blue Note Records and together with Cassandra Wilson and Norah Jones, she is one of the main contemporary vocalists of this label.

Nona Hendrix is known from the very famous funk-soul vocal ensemble Labelle. Since that time, crossing genre boundaries has been her characteristic feature. Her openness to music is well-reflected in the list of artists with whom she has cooperated: Prince, Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, Rahzel of the The Roots, hip-hop squad Dead Prez and ex-member of Tangerine Dream, Paul Haslinger. She is a frequent guest at the most prestigious festival around the world and is valued for her vocal charisma.

Outstanding trumpet player Terence Blanchard has released over 20 albums and several dozen soundtracks to films and TV series. However, the cooperation with American director Spike Lee brought him the biggest fame. They met in 1990 for the first time when the trumpeter from New Orleans amazed the director with his performance of the score from the ‘Mo’Better Blues’ film. Since then both artists have been an inseparable duo. Blanchard is responsible for the music to all Lee's films since then. The soundtrack to ‘Malcolm X’, ‘Inside Man’ and ‘25th Hour’ have brought him a lot of recognition.

Lee and Blanchard with their art have been co-creating contemporary American culture for 25 years. They make a portrait, present its fears and anxieties, and document its everyday life.
