Another intense year at the Philharmonic. Thanks for being with us!

During the 2016/2017 artistic season, the Szczecin Philharmonic noted nearly 180,000 visits. This was possible owing to our loyal music lovers, who regularly came to symphonic concerts, as well as those who,in the space of the white towers, discovered the sounds of jazz, traditional singing, electronic music, or had met every month at exhibition openings in the Level 4 gallery. The Golden Hall saw such household names as Mischa Maiski, Dina Yoffe, Terrence Blanchard, the new band Squarepusher – Shobaleader One. The orchestra hosted many outstanding conductors like Łukasz Borowicz and Eugene Tzigane.

One of the most important events of the season end was the album which the Philharmonic recorded together with Bartłomiej Nizioł for the 140th anniversary of the institution Patron’s birthday – Mieczysław Karłowicz. The album was nominated for a Polish Music Industry Award, the “Fryderyk", in the category of album of the year: symphonic and concert music.

Educational voyages into the world of music were provided all year round by EduFilharmonia. Family concerts, music workshops for children, and even a premiere of a board game! Again children, seniors and pupils from educational care facilities in the West Pomeranian region came to the “Szczecin Philharmonic By Limo”. It was an intense year!


Interest in the Philharmonic as an example of bold contemporary architecture is still very high. Guided tours, photoshoots and huge queues in front of the building during the “Night of the Museums” seem to confirm that both Szczecin dwellers and tourists want to spend time surrounded by state-of-the-art architecture.
