Kacper Malisz – violinist, composer.
Deeply rooted in traditional music through his family heritage, he began playing the violin at the age of eight. Since he was thirteen, he has performed actively and is now considered one of the most recognizable instrumentalists on the Polish folk scene.
His music offers a modern perspective on folk traditions while preserving their authentic core. It is a testament to how ecstatic mazurka themes, trance-like obereks, and wild polkas can be transformed into contemporary music in the best sense of the term. In addition to leading his family ensemble, he has collaborated with artists and groups such as Atom String Quartet, Krzesimir Dębski, Michał Tokaj, Michał Barański, Krzysztof Ścierański, and Jan Smoczyński.
He has received numerous awards from major festivals and music magazines, including three-time recognition at the Nowa Tradycja Festival and four mentions from Songlines Magazine. With his original trio, he has performed in Malaysia, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Finland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Belgium, Ukraine, Hungary, and Slovakia.
