Aleksander Kunach

Aleksander Kunach – Tenor. In June 2006 he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw, where he studied singing. Since October 2005 he has studied under Tom Krause in Escuela Superior de la Misica Reina Sofia in Madrid. Since 2007 he is Warsaw Chamber Opera’s soloist. He also cooperates with Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, Baltic Opera in Gdańsk and Opera in Białystok.

In 2001 he took part in the Inter-Academical Polish Song Competition, where he was awarded the Special Prize. He was the laureate of International Vocal Competition in Duszniki-Zdroj (2002). In 2005 he received an award in the Young Artists Competition held by the Polish Cultural Foundation. In august 2009 he got the III prize and the Special Prize at the IV International Mozart Competition in Prague. Aleksander Kunach frequently performs sacred and secular works including oratorio, cantata, opera, romantic and modern songs and various types of chamber music of varying styles. His operatic roles include: the part of Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Tito in La clemenza di Tito and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Seviglia and Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Tom Rakewell in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress.

Aleksander Kunach cooperates with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Great Theatre National Opera in Warsaw, Baltic Opera in Gdańsk and many Polish and foreign conductors, such as Jacek Kaspszyk, Michał Klauza, Jerzy Salwarowski, Łukasz Borowicz, Paul McCreesh, Paul Goodwin, Benjamin Bayl, Friedrich Haider.

Gifted with beautiful, lyrical tenor, with its clear, soft and shiny timbre, Aleksander appears equally well in songs, oratorios and operatic repertoire where he can demonstrate his well developed acting skills.
