A violinist born in Kazakhstan, Meruert Karmenova began playing the violin at the age of five. She later moved to Moscow to continue her education at the Gnessin Special School of Music under the guidance of Tatiana Berkul. From 2012, she studied under the same teacher at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.
During her studies, Meruert became a laureate of numerous international violin competitions. Her accolades include:
- Second Prize at the 2nd David Oistrakh International Violin Competition in Moscow (2007)
- First Prize at the 2nd International Violin Competition in Astana, Kazakhstan (2008)
- First Prize at the 6th Ludwig van Beethoven International Violin Competition in St. Pölten, Austria (2010)
- First Prize at the 17th International Music Competition in Togliatti, Russia (2012)
- First Prize at the 5th David Oistrakh International Violin Competition in Moscow (2013)
In 2018, she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and became an artist-in-residence at the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, where she began working with Augustin Dumay. That same year, she won First Prize and a Special Prize for the best performance of a contemporary work by Alexey Shor at the Riga International String Competition. She also won the Vienna International Violin Competition.
In 2022, Meruert was awarded Second Prize and a Special Prize for the best interpretation of a work by Karol Szymanowski at the 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznań. Following the competition, she embarked on a tour, performing with leading Polish orchestras including the Poznań Philharmonic, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), NFM Wrocław Philharmonic, Amadeus Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Rzeszów, Opole, Kraków, and Łódź.
