For the fourth time, we invite you to a dance extravaganza in the Philharmonic’s foyer! With this event, we want to highlight the integrative and social role of music. By dancing, we connect with the group or our partners, developing not only physically but, above all, intellectually and emotionally.
As part of the project I Hear Good Sounds – Without Barriers, we invite you to a fajfy – an afternoon dance party in the Philharmonic’s foyer, starting at… of course, 5 p.m.! The well-known band Swing Lovers, with the unique-voiced trombonist and singer Anna Nowik, will sweep us onto the dance floor.
Swing Lovers is a band that has represented West Pomerania in Copenhagen and Brussels, and has also performed at jazz festivals both in Poland and abroad, including the Snakecity Jazz Festival (Slangerup, Denmark), Allinge Jazzfestival (Bornholm), Femø Jazz Festival, and the International Dresden Jazz Festival (Germany). The group consists of experienced instrumentalists, full of energy and eager for new musical challenges. They specialize mainly in jazz standards performed in dixieland and swing arrangements.
And where does the name come from? Fajfy is the Polish word for the afternoon dance parties popular since the 1960s. The word comes from a Polonized pronunciation of the English term for 5 o’clock.
The project "I Hear Good Sounds – Without Barriers" was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage under the Accessible Culture Programme.
