In the 2017/2018 artistic season, the Atom String Quartet has the status of Artist-in-residence at the Philharmonic in Szczecin. This time we will hear original compositions by these classically educated musicians who chose to develop a jazz passion.
Throughout the years of activity of these ‘four most amiable fiddlers with a force holding up the ensemble’s name’ as Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski called them, have been regular guests at the biggest European music festivals, such as Berliner Jazztage, Jazz Baltica, Leipziger Jazztage, Festival Veranos de la Villa Madrid, Jazz Jamboree, Ethno Jazz Festival and Solidarity of Arts (Atom also performed at the Berlin Philharmonic, together with Leszek Możdżer, Lars Danielsson, Zohar Fresco). The orchestra will be conducted by Sebastian Perłowski, conductor, arranger, artist, combining ambitious symphonic and opera projects with an inclination towards jazz.. So, most probably he'll find a common language with the Atom.
