The recruitment process for the ninth edition of the Internation Lutoslawski Youth Orchestra has started

This unique musical project was initiated in 2013 as part of the celebration of the hundredth anniversary of Witold Lutosławski's birth. Every year, the Philharmonic Mieczysław Karłowicz in Szczecin invites young musicians from Poland and other European countries to his headquarters to learn about the work of the orchestra's patron under the watchful eye of respected instrumentalists and teachers. The culmination of the weekly work of the project participants is the final concert in the golden symphony hall of the Philharmonic in Szczecin.

The ninth edition is another, incredible opportunity for young musicians to take a place in the orchestra of a prestigious symphonic concert under the direction of Rune Bergmann – Artistic Director and Conductor of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. As every year, preparations for the concert will be held under the supervision of recognized instrumentalists and teachers during workshops for each of the instrumental sections.

The idea of the project is to create an opportunity for aspiring instrumentalists to gain inspiration and polish the technique of the best musicians in Europe and present a unique project in the orchestra, inspired by the works of Witold Lutosławski. Every year, the concert repertoire is strongly based on the inspirations and works of the famous Polish composer.

This year, the musicians of the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra will be able to try their hand at the following repertoire:

• Albert Roussel – Little Suite for Orekistr, Op. 39

• Witold Lutosławski – Chantefleurs et chantefables
• Andrzej Panufnik – Symphony No. 5 "Sinfonia di Sphere"

The recruitment process for young musicians lasts until June 30th, 2021.
