Jarosław Nadrzycki

Jarosław Nadrzycki was born in Żagań, Poland, where he also began his musical education. He is a graduate of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studied under Professor Jadwiga Kaliszewska, as well as the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under Professor Igor Ozim and the Royal Academy of Music in London under Professor Igor Petrushevsky.

In 2016, he joined the faculty of the Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań as an assistant professor, and in 2024 he earned a doctoral degree in musical arts.

A laureate of numerous international violin competitions, Jarosław Nadrzycki has won first prizes at the Aram Khachaturian Competition in Yerevan, the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest, the Max Rostal Competition in Berlin, the Jascha Heifetz Competition in Vilnius, the “Valsesia Musica” Competition in Varallo, and the Haverhill Sinfonia Soloist Competition in the UK. He is also a prizewinner of the Tibor Varga Competition in Martigny (Switzerland), the Benjamin Britten Competition in London, and the Henryk Wieniawski Competition in Poznań.

At the age of 12, he made his orchestral debut performing Pablo de Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy with the Moscow Conservatory Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. A turning point in his career came in 2010, when he performed Krzysztof Penderecki’s Violin Concerto No. 2 Metamorphosen with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela under the baton of the composer himself.

In addition to his solo career, he served as first violinist of the Meccore String Quartet (2013-2018) and, since 2018, he has been a founding member of the Boarte Piano Trio. That same year, his long-standing collaboration with pianist Joanna Zathey resulted in a recording of works by Johannes Brahms for violin and piano, released by Orphée Classics.

Jarosław Nadrzycki has performed with major orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, MDR Symphony Orchestra, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, George Enescu Philharmonic, State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra “Amadeus”, the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, and the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, under such conductors as Massimiliano Caldi, Agnieszka Duczmal, Paul Goodwin, Giancarlo Guerrero, Alexander Humala, Kristjan Järvi, Michał Klauza, Krzysztof Penderecki, Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, Thomas Sanderling, Hakan Sensoy, Sergey Smbatyan, and Maxim Vengerov.

He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall in London, the Musikverein in Vienna, Nikolaisaal in Potsdam, Konzerthaus in Klagenfurt, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, Ahmed Adnan Saygun Arts Center in Izmir, Bozar in Brussels, Pollack Hall in Montreal, Turkistan Concert Hall in Tashkent, Central Opera House in Beijing, City Hall in Hong Kong, and Seoul Arts Center in South Korea.

His discography includes recordings for Hänssler Classic, DUX, Warner Music Poland, MDG Classics, Orphée Classics, and Chopin University Press. He has also appeared in numerous radio and television broadcasts, including Polish Radio, Bayerischer Rundfunk, BBC Radio 3, ZDF, ORF Austria, Mezzo TV, and TVP Kultura.
