Krzysztof Jakowicz – is one of the most decorated and recognised Polish violinists. He recorded all sonatas and partitas of Johann Sebastian Bach for Polish Radio. His long career is filled with performances alongside the best orchestras in the world: English Chamber Orchestra, Israeli Philharmonic, Wiener Symphoniker, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquestra Ciutat de Barcelona, ORTF from Vienna, Bamberger Symphoniker, Berliner Sinfonie Orchester, Westdeutsche Rundfunk from Santa Cecilia, Accademia in Rome, Orchester de Bordeaux-Aquitaine, Sinfonia Varsovia, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also collaborated with excellent conductors such as Jiří Bělohlávek, Riccardo Chailly, Leopold Hager, Pinchas Steinberg, Michael Tabachnik, Jacek Kaspszyk, Kazimierz Kord, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Semkow, Antoni Wit and Marek Pijarowski.
Krzysztof Jakowicz is also a recognised chamber musician. In 1986 he received the "Orpheus" statuette – the critics' award of the Association of Polish Artists of Musicians SPAM for the best performance of a Polish composer's work during the Warsaw Autumn Festival – Witold Lutosławski's Chain II for violin and orchestra. In 1989, he was honoured with the Diapason award of French critics for an album with this work d'Or; in 1997, the Fryderyk award for the recording of Lutosławski's Partita for violin and orchestra.
Since 1966, he has been teaching the violin at the Frédéric Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He is also a visiting professor at SOAI University in Osaka, Japan. In addition, he has lectured at international masterclasses in France, Austria (Salzburg) and Japan (Tokyo, Osaka). He is on the jury of prestigious violin competitions (Niccolò Paganini in Genoa, Henryk Wieniawski in Poznań, Carl Nielsen in Odense, Tadeusz Wroński in Warsaw, Yehudi Menuhin in Folkestone).
