
Almir Mesković is a Bosnian-Norwegian accordionist, born in Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 1988.
His music is a unique blend of Balkan roots and Scandinavian elements. Mesković has over 20 years of experience in classical music, but he is equally comfortable in a wide range of genres, from Balkan rhythms and Norwegian folk melodies to Mozart and gypsy music.
He gained widespread recognition through his collaboration with violinist Daniel Lazar. As the duo Almir & Daniel, they create energetic and emotional performances that combine the heritage of their home countries with influences from classical music, contemporary improvisation, and traditional Norwegian music. Their debut album, "Roots," released in 2018, received critical and public acclaim, winning awards and distinctions, including being named the best world music album of 2018.
Almir Mesković has performed at numerous prestigious music festivals throughout Europe, including in Poland, and has collaborated with many esteemed artists and institutions, such as The Norwegian Radio Orchestra.
