Justyna Rapacz

Justyna Rapacz – mezzo-soprano. From 2021 to 2023, she was a member of the Young Ensemble at the Semperoper Dresden, where she appeared as Mercédès in "Carmen", Second Lady in "The Magic Flute", Tisbe in "La Cenerentola", Lesni Žinka in "Rusalka", and Zweite Magd in "Elektra".

The year 2023 marked her debut at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, where she appeared as Tisbe in Damiano Michieletto’s production of "La Cenerentola", as well as a guest return to the Semperoper Dresden. In 2021, the mezzo-soprano made her debut at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, portraying Katharina Schratt in the ballet "Mayerling". She has collaborated with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, performing in Purcell’s "Dido and Aeneas" as the Sorceress. Shortly afterwards, she debuted as Dido with Capella Cracoviensis.

At the Polish Royal Opera, she has been heard as Piacere in Händel’s "Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno", directed by Waldemar Raźniak. She performed at the 24th and 25th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, taking the title role in Holst’s "Sāvitri" and the role of Moska in Cherubini’s "Faniska" under Łukasz Borowicz.

In cooperation with Capella Cracoviensis, she performed the title role in Händel’s oratorio "Solomon" and the role of Virtue in "The Choice of Hercules" in Bruges. She appeared several times at the Opera Rara Festival, including a performance of Brahms’ "Alto Rhapsody" in a production directed by Krystian Lada. She also sang the alto part in Bach’s Mass in B minor. She took part in a performance of Penderecki’s "The Black Mask" with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop.

In 2019, the artist made her debut at the Warsaw Philharmonic, performing Saint-Saëns’ "Oratorio de Noël" and Krzesimir Dębski’s "Pieśni historyczne" ("Historical Songs"). She returned there in 2022 with Mozart’s "Requiem" under Agnieszka Duczmal.

Justyna Rapacz studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she performed the role of Olga in "Eugene Onegin". She also graduated from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hanover, where she appeared as Cherubino in Mozart’s "The Marriage of Figaro". She completed the Young Talents Development Programme – Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw.

Her discography includes Cherubini’s "Faniska", songs by Moniuszko, as well as albums featuring works by Hasse and Vivaldi. In the 2025/2026 season, she will make debuts at the Wrocław Opera, the International Wratislavia Cantans Festival, and the Baden-Baden Festival.

She has worked with conductors such as Jan Tomasz Adamus, Benjamin Bayl, Jonathan Darlington, Srba Dinić, Kilian Farrell, John Fiore, Ádám Fischer, Patrick Fournillier, Christoph Gedschold, Paul Goodwin, Thomas Hengelbrock, Marie Jacquot, Andrzej Kosendiak, Alessandro de Marchi, Evan Rogister, and with directors including Damiano Michieletto, Josef E. Köpplinger, Nikolaus Habjan, and Karl Burnett.
