During their only concert in Poland, the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the famous Jules Buckley (Metropol Orkest) and the participation of the favorite soloists of Quincy Jones, will perform his greatest hits. Special guests of the evening are three young soloists/instrumentalists - Jacob Collier, Alfredo Rodriguez and Eli Teplin. All being valued and supported by the older friend, mentor and guru of jazz music - Jones.
Jacob Collier - a 25-year-old vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer originating from London. He gained fame as a teenager, publishing samples of his recordings on YouTube, thanks to which in 2014 he signed a contract with Quincy Jones’ managerial agency. In 2016, he released his debut album "In My Room", and a year later the artist was honored with two Grammy Awards.
Alfredo Rodriguez - a composer and jazz pianist from Cuba. He studied classical piano at Amadeo Roldán Music Conservatory and Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, at the same time he was also interested in jazz pianism. In 2006, he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, where Quincy Jones became interested in him and offered a cooperation. He has performed at numerous festivals around the world, and has performed with such outstanding musicians as Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Esperanza Spalding. In 2015, his arrangement of the song "Guantanamera" was nominated for a Grammy Award.
Eli Teplin - songwriter and pop artist, as well as a classically educated pianist and guitarist. He graduated from the New England Conservatory in Boston. Then he performed locally in Nashville, where he studied at the Vanderbilt University. His path to a wider career was also ensured by the acquaintance and support of Quincy Jones. The musician moved to Los Angeles, where he is currently working on his debut album.
