This outstanding composer needs no introductions. His compositions are known by everyone even if they do not know that Zygmunt Konieczny is the author. Most often he is associated with Piwnica pod Baranami (eng. The Cellar under the Rams). He is called ‘a jolly composer of sad songs’. He writes music to films, theatrical performances and TV. He has hugely influenced Ewa Demarczyk's style.
This time his most recognisable songs: ‘Karuzele z madonnami’ (eng.’Carousels with Madonnas’), ‘Groszki i róże’ (eng. ‘Peas and roses’), ‘Oczy tej małej’ (eng. ‘Little girl's eyes’) and ‘Pocałunki’ (eng. ‘Kisses’) will be performed by Agata Zubel, whose voice is simply magnificent. This artist has proven many a time that she can sing anything at the highest possible level, from Mozart to Berio and Mykietyn, from a cantata to a song. The songs by Konieczny and performed by Zubel will convey playful laughter as well as dramatic sounds and intimate confessions.
The singer will be accompanied by three musicians: Bartłomiej Wąsik – a pianist of the most gentle fingers, who is a member of the Kwadrofonik ensemble, Andrzej Bauer – a cellist who is not afraid of borderline challenges with virtuosity, atechnique and sensitivity which allow him to take up these challenges without the fear of failure, and finally Cezary Duchnowski – nowadays called ‘the first electronic music artist in Poland’.
Zygmunt Konieczny's songs which have been present in Polish music for over 50 years, will be performed by these uncommon musicians for the listeners, with emotions to move the most delicate and smallest strings in our hearts and souls.
