Paweł Maślanka
Paweł Maślanka has been the solo violinist and concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of the Szczecin Philharmonic since 2010. He began his musical education at the age of 8, studying under many outstanding teachers such as Jadwiga Kaliszewska, Marcin Baranowski, and Yefim Stinerman.He is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied under Professor Krzysztof Podejko, and he is a laureate of numerous violin competitions held in Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice, Gdańsk, Łódź, and Zielona Góra.
In 2008, he began collaborating with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, with which he performed in Poland and abroad alongside artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Ivo Pogorelić, Martha Argerich, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and Maxim Vengerov.
Since 2012, he has been teaching violin at the Fryderyk Nowowiejski State Music Schools Complex and at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. In 2016, he obtained the title of Doctor of Arts.
In 2017, he initiated the formation of the chamber orchestra West Side Sinfonietta, composed of outstanding musicians from the Szczecin Philharmonic and the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. The orchestra’s work resulted in numerous concerts in Poland and abroad, as well as a nomination for the prestigious 2021 Fryderyk Music Award in the category “Album of the Year – Concerto Music” for their debut album Moritz Moszkowski.
He has created numerous arrangements for the West Side Sinfonietta and for the Szczecin Philharmonic for projects such as Everything Plays (featuring music from video games), the 1917 silent Polish film The Beast, and The Taste of Freedom inspired by the repertoire of the band Kombi.
