Masecki's Mazurkas

Marcin Masecki, pianista, kompozytor, dyrygent, członek wytwórni płytowej Lado ABC, lider i uczestnik miliarda projektów. Jeden z czołowych przedstawicieli polskiej sceny niezależnej. Masecki jest adwokatem traktowania muzyki klasycznej jako pełnoprawnego elementu współczesnego świata muzycznego, a nie jedynie jako eksponatu w elitarnym muzeum.

Marcin Masecki, born in 1982, pianist from Warsaw, composer, conductor, member of the record label Lado ABC, leader and participant of a zillion projects. One of the leading representatives of the Polish independent scene. Masecki is an evangelist of treating classical music as a full member of the contemporary world of music, and not only as an exhibit in an exclusive museum. His project "Polonaise" – a ten-man brass band playing an original set of polonaises – received "Paszport Polityki" ["Polityka Passport" – award of one of the most popular Polish weekly newsmagazines]. Masecki's latest solo project – "Mazurkas" – is also devoted to Polish folk music. The idea for the solo album with variations on mazurkas was born at the For-Tune label in mid-2014. Just like on the previous album "Scarlatti" (2013), Masecki here juxtaposes two instruments, which officially represent the same type – the acoustic and the digital piano.
