Landscape without Borders

The guitar is one of the world's oldest and most popular instruments. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the lute and vihuela were popular, and the term "guitarra" began to be used in the 16th century in Spain. In the following century, it became a widely used instrument among both court musicians and the common folk. In the 19th century, Antonio de Torres introduced significant changes to the guitar's construction, which shaped its modern form. His designs became a model for contemporary luthiers.

The Erlendis Quartet creatively refers to this rich history-during their concert, they will present a variety of pieces arranged for a guitar quartet. The musicians, who met while studying at the Music Academy in Poznań, also honed their skills abroad and further perfected their craft under the guidance of masters from various fields of music. This allows them to have a broad perspective on the guitar's possibilities and use their rich imagination in creating arrangements and interpretations of compositions.
