10 time Grammy Awards winners Take 6 is one of the most well known and talented vocal groups in the world. For over 20 years in their career they have performed at the most famous music festivals. The have cooperated with Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau and Queen Latifah.
Not only are their outstanding vocal skills the quintessence of their success, but also the values they share faith, friendships, respect and love of music. Six geniuses of voice Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea and Khristian Dentley, move freely between various musical genres: from soul through gospel, R&B to pop.
Take 6 have come a long way since their first rehearsals at the Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama, where Claude McKnight created the group The Gentleman’s Estate Quartet.
At the beginning of their career they were singing traditional gospel songs. Their debut album “Take 6” was released in 1988 by Warner Bros. During the last couple of years they have performed at the biggest jazz festivals in the world with success.
