“An unusual sweet, silky smooth and sensuous sound, performed in a perfect way and controlled in a gentle way” – this is what “Gramophone” wrote about her. The young Australian artist Amy Dickson is a great saxophonist who has been nominated twice for a prestigious Grammy music award. Her album “ Dusk & Down” reached number one on the classical music albums list in the UK.
The Royal Albert Hall, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the famous Sydney Opera House constitute just a few of the renown concert halls where she has performed in recent years as a soloist or a chamber musician. Critics continue to pay her compliments. “The Herland Scotland” published a confession by a reviewer: “Never before have I heard someone who plays the saxophone in such a tempting and alluring way. This Australian is a fairy who presents high level of technique and at the same time charms her listeners”.
Amy Dickson will put a spell on the audience in Szczecin with the Symphony Orchestra performing pieces by contemporary composer John Adams, many a time labelled as a “maximalist minimalist”. During the show there will also be space for several classical compositions – Symphony No. 1 by Johannes Brahms, interpreted by outstanding conductor Sergey Neller – laureate of the prestigious Mahler Competition (2016).
Filharmonia im. Mieczysława Karłowicza w Szczecinie uczestniczy w programie "Filharmonia. Ostrożnie, wciąga!!!" organizowanym przez Instytut Muzyki i Tańca ze środków MKiDN.
