Every five years, the eyes of the entire violin world turn toward Poznań. The Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition is among the oldest and most prestigious music competitions in the world. For over ninety years, it has been discovering artists who go on to grace the stages of the world's greatest concert halls. Its roster of laureates includes legends such as Ginette Neveu, David Oistrakh, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Maxim Vengerov, and Bomsori Kim.
The Szczecin Philharmonic once again joins this extraordinary celebration of music, inviting you to a recital by participants of the 17th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition. This offers a rare opportunity to hear artists on the threshold of international acclaim – musicians who already stand among the finest young violinists of their generation and who may well shape the future of violin performance in the years to come.
The evening will feature two half-recitals, allowing audiences to experience two distinct artists and two contrasting musical temperaments. Competitive performances demand far more from violinists than flawless technique; they require interpretative maturity, psychological fortitude, and the ability to articulate a compelling artistic voice. It is precisely these qualities that often prove decisive at the highest level, opening doors to collaborations with leading orchestras, conductors, and record labels.
This recital of Wieniawski Competition participants offers a fascinating glimpse into the future of classical music. It is not merely an encounter with young virtuosos, but a chance to witness the birth of future careers. As history has shown time and again, the names discovered during competition rounds soon find themselves headlining the world's premier concert halls.
