On "The Harps of Papusza" Wojciech Kocołowski once wrote: "With his music, Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz personally processed beatification of a modest gypsy who wandered with the caravans, escaped death, experienced coercion of settlement, wrote from the heart and loved the world, but the world did not love her".
The piece was used in the soundtrack for the movie "Papusza" directed by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze (premiered in November 2013), which brought Pawluśkiewicz the award at the 38th Film Festival in Gdynia.
