Olga Pasichnyk

An outstanding Polish-Ukrainian soprano, she has performed more than sixty operatic roles, including works by Monteverdi, Gluck, Handel, Mozart, Weber, Bizet, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Debussy, Szymanowski, Poulenc and contemporary composers. Her roles have taken her to some of the world’s most renowned and prestigious opera houses and concert venues, as well as to numerous CD, radio and television recordings. Her performances have earned her widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences.

She has appeared at venues including the Opéra National de Paris – Opéra Bastille, Palais Garnier, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Théâtre Châtelet, Salle Pleyel, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Komische Oper Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin, Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Teatro Real, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Bayerische Staatsoper, Münchner Philharmonie, Palais des Beaux-Arts, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Theater an der Wien, Bregenzer Festspiele, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Finnish National Opera, Flemish Opera, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw.

Her repertoire also includes a wide range of chamber music and song recitals, performed with pianists including Kevin Kenner, Janusz Olejniczak, Ewa Pobłocka and her sister, pianist Natalia Pasiecznik. She has taken part in numerous oratorio and symphonic concerts in leading concert halls throughout almost all European countries, as well as in the United States, Israel, China, Japan and Australia.

She has frequently collaborated with leading orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Symphoniker, Orchestre National de France, Belgian National Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España and Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE (Spain), The English Concert, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Freiburger Barockorchester, Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and NDR Bigband. She has worked with distinguished conductors including Fabio Biondi, Ivor Bolton, Andrzej Boreyko, Frans Brüggen, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Charles Dutoit, Mark Elder, René Jacobs, Vladimir Jurowski, Roy Goodman, Christopher Hogwood, Heinz Holliger, Philippe Herreweghe, Kazimierz Kord, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Marc Minkowski, John Nelson, Kazushi Ono, Andrew Parrott, Krzysztof Penderecki, Trevor Pinnock, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Marcello Viotti, Antoni Wit and Massimo Zanetti.

She is a prize-winner of international vocal competitions including the IVC ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands, the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in Helsinki, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and the Munich Opera Festival. In Poland, she has also received numerous distinctions, including the Polityka Passport, the Fryderyk Awards, the Orpheus Award of the Warsaw Autumn Festival, the C. K. Norwid Award, the A. Hiolski Award and the J. Kiepura Award.

She has twice been nominated by the international opera magazine Opernwelt for the title of “Singer of the Season”. She has received the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Gold Cross of Merit and the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. In 2023, she was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.

Her discography includes more than 70 CDs and DVDs, recorded for labels including Harmonia Mundi, Naxos, Dabringhaus und Grimm, CD Accord, BIS and Opus 111.

She is also actively involved in teaching and academic work. For thirty years, she has given masterclasses in Poland and abroad. Since 2018, she has been a tutor for the Gaude Polonia programme of the National Centre for Culture for international students. She is a permanent teacher at the Opera Academy of the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw and a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

For more than twenty years, she has served as a jury member at national and international vocal competitions.
