Presence presents the paintings of Łukasz Patelczyk as a space where two fundamental orders meet: the forces of nature and geometric structure.
The artist combines the language of abstraction with landscape, creating works in which nature appears in its primordial state, untouched by human activity -free from buildings, roads, or traces of civilisation. It is nature in its purest, almost sacred form: a place of contemplation and freedom. In contrast, geometric forms become signs of consciousness – traces of thought inscribed into the organic fabric of the world. They do not dominate the landscape but enter into dialogue with it, establishing a subtle balance between intuition and reason.
Patelczyk tells no stories and engages in no external ideological or political discourse. His painting remains an act of contemplation – a meditation on the relationship between chaos and order, between the untamed and the constructed. The surface of the canvas becomes a place where these two forces coexist, nature and geometry defining one another rather than competing. The works do not seek to resolve these tensions; instead, they remain open, inviting attentive looking and individual reflection.
