Circle Ensemble

The ensemble was founded by Katarina Aleksić – a Serbian violinist who successfully combines the world of historical performance (including Holland Baroque, Le Consort, {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna) and contemporary performance (she has been the concertmaster of the Serbian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra for 20 years).

The concept of the ensemble is based on the idea of ​​a gradually expanding international circle of exceptional musicians cooperating with each other – initially only within the Europe Be My Guest concert series in Serbia. However, it quickly turned out that the ensemble's potential goes beyond the borders of one country and Circle Ensemble also began to perform at European festivals.

The flexible composition of the ensemble allows for inviting outstanding artists representing various aesthetics and performance styles. On the occasion of the concert at the M. Karlowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin, the Circle Ensemble was joined by a wonderful Polish harpsichordist – Marcin Świątkiewicz, who regularly collaborates with leading European early music ensembles as a soloist and conductor. The line-up is completed by Tomasz Pokrzywiński, a cellist associated with Circle Ensemble since the beginning of the band, known to the Polish audience both as a basso continuo specialist and as a member of the experimental Trio Bastarda.
