Founded in 2022 by four passionate chamber musicians-Marta Piórkowska, Agata Krystek, Damian Kułakowski, and Mateusz Błaszczak-the string quartet brings together artists who perform regularly with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, and Hashtag Ensemble.
The ensemble made its debut in 2023 at the WarszeMuzik Festival, where it received highly enthusiastic reviews. That same year, it was awarded Third Prize at the Virtuoso International Music Awards in London.
In April 2024, the quartet became the only Polish ensemble selected to participate in the prestigious Schubert Masterclasses organized by the Arts Foundation. During the programme, the musicians worked with Krzysztof Chorzelski (Belcea Quartet), Imogen Cooper, and Mark Padmore.
The quartet continues to expand its concert activity both in Poland and internationally. In 2024, it performed at the closing concert of the Ryfka Tiktiner Jewish Music Festival in Tykocin, returned to the WarszeMuzik Festival, and made its debut performances in Xiamen and Hong Kong.
(NIE)CÓRKI (Not Daughters) is the ensemble's first original artistic project. Its premiere took place in October 2024 during the Heroines Festival at the House of Meetings with History in Warsaw.
