
Jakub Kraszewski is a graduate of the Feliks Nowowiejski Music School Complex in Szczecin, where he studied organ and jazz piano. In 2014, he began his studies at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the class of jazz composition and arrangement led by Dr. hab. Krzesimir Dębski. He is a laureate of national and international music competitions, including 3rd prize at the “Young Europe Organists” International Competition in Bardo (2013), and twice awarded the special prize for best organist at the International Church Music Awards in Malchow, Germany – IV Internationaler Malchower Kirchenpreis (2012) and VI Internationaler Malchower Kirchenpreis (2014). In 2017, he won 1st prize in the Grohman Orchestra Composition Competition “Classical Orchestra – Small Entertainment Form” in Łódź. He was also a recipient of the Szczecin City Artistic Scholarship in both 2013 and 2014.
Jakub Kraszewski has frequently collaborated with the Szczecin Philharmonic as a composer, arranger, conductor, and pianist. His work is marked by the highest artistic quality and exemplifies a modern approach to musical material while maintaining respect for traditional and historical values.
He is a regular collaborator with the Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band, where he serves as both pianist and arranger. The Big Band performs a wide and diverse repertoire of jazz and popular music, and thanks to Kraszewski’s arrangements, traditional pieces gain a unique lightness and character.
