Gabriela Legun

A Polish soprano born in Warsaw, Gabriela Legun is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.

Recent seasons have been marked by a series of important debuts in new roles and on European stages.

At the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, she has performed as Amelia Grimaldi in Simon Boccanegra, Juliette in a concert performance of Roméo et Juliette, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Mimì in La Bohème, Hanna in The Haunted Manor, and Micaëla in Carmen. She also made her debut as Desdemona in Otello at the Grand Theatre in Poznań.

On international stages, she made her debut at Oper Köln as Liù in Turandot and at La Monnaie in the production Rivoluzione e Nostalgia. She has also performed the role of Pamina in The Magic Flute at the Komische Oper Berlin and Teatro Regio di Torino.

In June and July 2025, she appeared in concert alongside Jonathan Tetelman and Artur Ruciński.

The 2026/2027 season will see her stage debut as Juliette in Roméo et Juliette at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, as well as her debut at the Grand Theatre in Łódź as Desdemona in Otello.

Her future engagements include the roles of Roxana in King Roger, Antonia in The Tales of Hoffmann, Marguerite in Faust, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and Violetta Valéry in La Traviata, as well as Verdi’s Requiem.

Gabriela Legun is a prize-winner of several international vocal competitions. She received First Prize at the Ada Sari International Vocal Competition (2019), the Ewa Kleinitz Prize at the Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino (2021), the Marta Eggerth and Jan Kiepura Prize at the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition (2022), and First Prize at the 5th Adam Didur International Vocal Competition (2024). She was also awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
