Joined by Larry Browne, Robert Majewski, and Mary Rumi, the Borys Janczarski Ensemble will present the acclaimed material from their latest album, Love Is – a project in which elegant jazz meets a deeply personal story of love, intimacy, and emotions expressed through music.
The programme combines internationally renowned jazz standards with original compositions by members of the ensemble. The audience will hear new interpretations of works such as George Gershwin's It Ain’t Necessarily So, Horace Silver's Strollin', and Les feuilles mortes with Jacques Prévert's original lyrics, alongside compositions written especially for this project. The concert will feature lyrical ballads, subtle musical dialogue, and energetic improvisation, providing each musician the opportunity to showcase their artistry.
Joining the ensemble's leader on stage will be outstanding instrumentalists Joanna Gajda, Michał Jaros, Patryk Dobosz and Jacek Namysłowski. The evening will also be enriched by special guests: vocalist and trumpeter Larry Browne, trumpeter Robert Majewski, and vocalist Mary Rumi.
Over the years, Borys Janczarski has steadily established his place on the Polish jazz scene. He has collaborated with distinguished jazz musicians on both sides of the Atlantic and participated in concert, recording, and film projects. He now returns with the most personal work of his career – an album conceived as a musical letter to someone especially important in his life, his wife Agnieszka, while also reflecting on the universal emotion that has inspired artists throughout the ages.
