SISQ – Szczecin International String Quartet – is a string quartet formed by musicians of the symphony orchestra of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin. The ensemble was created as an artistic initiative of musicians united by a passion for chamber music performance and a desire to develop their own distinctive sound.
Each member of the quartet brings extensive stage experience and a well-established artistic background, giving the ensemble depth and professional maturity. Coming together within a shared project, the musicians have merged their individual artistic paths into a single creative space.
One of the most distinctive features of SISQ is that it brings together artists from Poland, Ukraine, Italy, and South Korea. This brings a richness of musical traditions and cultural heritage that naturally becomes a source of inspiration and creative energy. The musicians combine it into a coherent whole, creating a shared artistic statement, the culmination of which is the universal language of music.
The quartet’s repertoire spans a wide stylistic range – from classical music in its most refined form to jazz and popular interpretations. It is a space of experimentation, freedom, and exploration of new sound, where genre boundaries become fluid.
