Here is our proposal for this Sunday evening in April – songs from the repertoires of Zbigniew Wodecki and Andrzej Zaucha, arranged by Krzysztof Herdzin and performed by our one-of-a-kind big band together with special guest artists.
Zbigniew Wodecki was a singer, violinist, composer, and arranger. In addition to his unmistakable voice (and equally distinctive appearance), he is remembered today for such beloved songs as Rzuć to wszystko, co złe, Zacznij od Bacha, and Sobą być. All of these will be performed this evening in the Symphony Hall.
Andrzej Zaucha was a jazz and pop vocalist, saxophonist, and drummer. He remains an iconic figure in the minds of Polish audiences thanks to timeless songs such as Byłaś serca biciem, C'est la vie, and Bądź moim natchnieniem. All of them will be heard during the concert.
Adding even more excitement to the evening, the musicians will be led by Krzysztof Herdzin himself. Beloved by Polish audiences, Herdzin is an acclaimed arranger who has successfully combined the worlds of classical, jazz, and popular music throughout his career as an arranger, conductor, and composer. He has contributed to more than 200 albums, including 21 of his own.
The Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band was founded in 2017. The ensemble brings together musicians from the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra alongside outstanding instrumentalists and arrangers from the music communities of Szczecin and Poznań.
