Absolute legends of the Polish jazz scene, special guest artists, and the world premiere of a composition commissioned by the Szczecin Philharmonic. What more is there to say? Join us as we celebrate International Jazz Day!

Bernard Maseli is unquestionably Poland’s most renowned vibraphonist. He is also a composer, arranger, music producer, and highly respected educator. A graduate of the renowned Jazz and Popular Music Department of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, he has been a lecturer there for many years and was awarded the title of Professor of Musical Arts in 2017. Maseli is also a co-founder of several landmark projects that have shaped the Polish jazz scene, including Walk Away, Young Power, and The Globetrotters. For nearly three decades, he held first place in the vibraphone category in the annual Jazz Forum magazine critics’ poll.

The concert will also feature a host of other outstanding musicians. We are delighted to welcome back Paweł Tomaszewski – pianist, composer, arranger, and Artist-in-Residence at the Szczecin Philharmonic, whose residency resulted in the acclaimed album Coincidence. The stage will also host some of the finest names in Polish jazz: Henryk Miśkiewicz (appearing for the first time in our official concert programme), Andrzej Święs, and Marcin Jahr.

Making her debut in the Ice Palace, Rouhangeze Baichoo is a young yet exceptionally talented vocalist and songwriter. The musicians will be led by the incomparable Marek Moś, a conductor who is always at home in projects like this and who also serves as Artistic Director of the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra.
